Known historically as the "bloodstone", this stone got its name for the Greek word for blood, "haima" due to its naturally occurring reddish tones (which dissipate once smelted). This iron-rich stone is deeply grounding and connected to the earth. Due to these grounding properties, Hematite has been known to facilitate growth and change in people that had issues with: lacking personal boundaries, feeling unsafe, being overly cautious, inability to stand up for themselves, or feeling unbalanced. Hematite is connected to the Root Chakra and has a profoundly grounding energy that reminds us of our human existence and supports us financially. It can also be used to alleviate stress and anxiety.
